OUR SERVICES
PROFESSIONAL TREE CARE
In order to best serve our clients, we take a holistic approach to understand how to meet your specific needs. During our initial free consultation, we will review your concerns, assess potential hazards, inspect the health and structure of your trees throughout your property, and provide insight on opportunities for ecological and aesthetic enhancement. As we work to protect your property, we aim to consider each tree first as an individual specimen, secondly as a piece of your landscape architecture, and finally as a member of the larger, regional forests of Maine.
PRUNING, TRIMMING, & Bracing
It is important to establish an objective prior to removing anything and to hire a professional arborist to maintain your trees in the best possible way. Proper pruning is essential to maintaining trees’ safety, health, structure, and aesthetics without causing shock or other health issues.
The main reason for pruning is to mitigate safety hazards by addressing potential tree or branch failures. This can include removal of branches or “end weight reduction” on long branches that have too much growth at the end. Bracing with a cabling system may also be involved in order to improve tree structure.
Other reasons for pruning include:
Clearance from roofs or structures, parking areas, high traffic areas (play spaces, fire pits, gardens, decks, patios, etc.), utility lines, septic systems, and so on.
Thinning in order to reduce a “sail effect” in wind events, to eliminate or prevent disease, or to allow sunshine to reach throughout the tree and canopy.
Vista pruning or pruning for aesthetics in order to achieve our clients’ personal goals and visions.
removal
We love trees, but they can inherently pose threats to property and/or people. A professional risk assessment will take many factors into consideration, including new construction and disturbance of root systems, wind exposure, decay, insects and disease, and damage caused by weather events.
Vista clearing, lot clearing, and aesthetics are also reasons for tree removal, and our team can advise clients on how to achieve their goals while ensuring compliance with local zoning and shoreland protection ordinances.
Whatever the reason may be, our crew specializes in highly technical removals in places that cannot be reached by lifts or equipment. Safety is our number one goal, both for our crew and for your property. We take every measure possible to minimize impact on your property and, when the job is done, our goal is to leave it cleaner than before.
Storm Preparation & Clean-Up:
Storm Preparation can involve a number of different measures listed above in our services.
We love to take all of the best preventative measures we can take, but in the event of a storm that causes damage, we are ready to help. We realize how important it is to remove downed or broken trees from property as quickly as possible. We do our best to anticipate potential storm damage and be ready for our role in post storm clean up as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you have any trees on your property that concern you (due to a lean, previous damage, health issues, etc.) contact us for a free assessment and quote for removal.
Lot Clearing, Site Prep, and Planning:
Our crew is outfitted with the proper equipment to clear lots and prepare building sites safely and efficiently. We are also happy to offer in-house landscape design services to develop more nuanced removal and tree protection plans. We approach selective clearing from both a forest management perspective and a property value point of view, considering the health and species of trees to be preserved, as well as the added beauty and prominence that well-established, mature growth provides.
